A broadband flow energy harvester induced by the wake of a bluff body

Wake-galloping energy harvesting has been extensively developed to scavenge flow from vortex-induced oscillations. Hence, the wake-galloping harvester only a natural frequency which leads very narrow bandwidth. Therefore, it does not operate well under wide region of shedding frequencies in variable wind speed. To overcome vital issue, this paper we explored novel two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear collect induced by wake bluff body. The restoring force is realized using repulsive magnetic between two cuboid-shaped permanent magnets, and electromechanical coupling equations are presented. Based on method harmonic balance, governing decoupled, first-order solutions implemented. modulation established, amplitude–frequency figures displacement voltage depicted with different detuning parameters. superiority presented contrasted single-degree-of-freedom linear cases, results revealed that scheme can enhance bandwidth capture. effect physical parameters scavenged power discussed. accuracy efficiency approximate analytical data examined numerical simulations.
